The scanner does a great job of finding the correct values from a business card, but even with a 95% hit rate, the missing 5% can be annoying for the user. You can now set a default country for all scans in the studio.

How does it work?

  • When a country can't be found on the business card, the default country is set
  • The default country value will not override the country value when an existing lead or contact is found in Salesforce. The user can also change the country value in the app if the default country is not correct.

Setting the default country in the studio

Instances where the State and Country/Territory Picklists are NOT enabled

  • Log in to the Studio
  • Go to Settings
  • Set the default country with the value you want
  • Save your changes on the top of the page

Instances where the State and Country/Territory Picklists ARE enabled

  • Log in to the Studio
  • Go to Settings
  • Set the default country with the two-letter country code value you want
  • Save your changes on the top of the page

The value used in the studio must be the two-letter country code. You can find the codes in Salesforce Setup under State and Country/Territory Picklists.

And this is what the setup looks like in the studio.
